Michelle James - Integrated Media Specialist
Michelle James is excited to share her insights on effective strategies for driving engagement in the AIN FBO Survey and how to maximize ratings organically. As a sales and marketing professional with over 25 years of experience in business aviation, she has successfully led revenue growth and strategic marketing initiatives for industry-leading organizations. Michelle currently serves as an Account Executive at AIN Media Group where she helps clients enhance their marketing strategies around the Annual FBO Survey, leveraging her deep expertise in data-driven engagement. Prior to this, she held leadership roles at Universal Avionics, an Elbit Systems Company, where she played a pivotal role in shaping global sales and marketing strategies.
Michelle holds an MBA from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, a Sales Operations Certification from UNLV, and a BS from the State University of New York.
Karl Kamps - VP of Operations Access Medical & Crew Staffing
Karl started his career as a Medic in the United States Army. During this time he held several assignments in the field and hospital based. He finished his career in the Army as the Aid to the Deputy Surgeon General of the Army. He has since held multiple positions in the medical field.
Karl made the transition to aviation in 2004 when he became a commercial Flight Attendant; he eventually became an IOE Evaluator and Emergency Procedures instructor. He joined Aircare in 2012 and currently serves as the VP of Operations for Telemedicine & Staffing.
Karl has a degree from Purdue University in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources and holds certifications as a Pilot, E.M.T., Anesthesia Technologist and Hyperbaric Chamber Technician.
Mike Ficklin - Founder
A seasoned operations professional with more than 20+ years’ experience in business and commercial aviation, Mike Ficklin is the founder of Corvis Partners, a data analysis firm that delivers timely business intelligence to North America’s business aviation community including airports, FBOs, ground service providers and fuel distributors.
Mike started his aviation career on the ramp driving a catering truck for Continental Airlines before joining their management program. Through the years, from the Air Operations Area to the Airline Operations Control Center, Mike has cultivated a passion for efficient operations and resource management. He currently serves as an industry expert for X-1 FBO and is instrumental in developing their flight tracking and reporting system.
Jared Marshall - GSE Sales & Rental Manager
Jared Marshall is the GSE Sales & Rental Manager at AERO Specialties, where he oversees a comprehensive fleet of Ground Support Equipment for both sale and rental to aviation operations across North America. With over five years in the aviation industry and a strong background in leadership and logistics, Jared plays a key role in supporting FBOs, MROs, and airport service providers with reliable, mission-ready equipment.
Before joining AERO Specialties, Jared built a diverse career in operations, including over a decade managing wildland firefighting crews across the western U.S. His hands-on experience managing teams and high-pressure logistics laid the foundation for his success in aviation ground support. Jared’s focus on responsive service and equipment readiness helps ensure smooth aircraft handling and ground operations at every level.

Established in 1956, Aero Air located at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO) is 13 miles west of downtown Portland, Oregon. Portland is home to the corporate headquarters of Intel, Tektronix, Planar Systems, Solar World, Nike’s World Campus, Adidas, and Columbia Sportswear. Aero Air is the only FBO that is staffed 24/7/365 in the Portland metro area.
